The Day Care Search Begins

Today I started calling around to local day cares and I had a wake-up call.  I called a Goddard School down the street from our house that isn’t even built yet and they are already full through October 2011!!  Guess I should have listened when I was told that I should have gotten on a waiting list the day I found out I was pregnant.

I have been putting off this search as long as possible because the idea of dropping our baby off at a day care everyday scares me.  I know some of the positives – social development, daily schedules and creative learning environments.  Some of the centers even teach sign language to their babies before they are able to talk.  But I’m still nervous about the whole idea.

I’ve started setting up visits to get a feel for the day cares that we like and don’t like.  We are going to visit a Goddard school, KinderCare, and a Montessori school.  If anyone has experience with any of these day cares or suggestions for other places I should check out, please let me know.

no advice here on daycare…. good luck with the search! move to cincy and grandma paff will take care of Trey for you! I’ll even try to teach him sign language and the little bit of spanish that I learned in high school 🙂

Maybe you could move back to KC? I’m not making any promises but we may be able to get a high-chair installed at the Brooksider, either at the bar or “the table.” You’d be covered from 11:00 to 6:00 at least.

Have you checked out care.com? I’ve had a fair number of girlfriends use it with great success. In this neck of
the woods at least, its not too badly priced either. Good luck!
